Color Run!

Other then the waiting before the race, it was a blast. And really, even the waiting was fun. I’m not sure how fast I ran this 5K because I forgot my watch at home šŸ˜¦ but I’m pretty sure I ran it faster than normal. By the end I was fighting a side stitch and I NEVER get a side stitch running 3 miles.

After the race We went to a park and played zombie tag. I wasn’t able to get pics of that though because my camera battery died. By the end of the day I was sore and tired. My knee, of course, is sore and it hurts to walk. I really hope I don’t always struggle with my knee. I’m guessing it was all the sprinting I did playing tag that aggravated my knee.Ā A three mile run doesn’t bother it but I guess sprinting does. šŸ˜¦

Here are some of the pictures from yesterday. If you have never ran in a Color Run, you really need to. It’s a blast!

The Start Of My Transformation…Again

A few years ago I went through a big transformation. I had gained A LOT of weight, (and in a lot I mean going from 140 to around 275!) having kids and after seven kids I was ready to take my body back. Then I had a couple more kids and lost that body. haha Now I’m working on it once again. I am finally daring enough to post some before and after pics. TheĀ top row of pictures is of me in 2009, the bottom row is of me now. I’ll be adding a new picture with every tenĀ pounds I loseĀ and will post my progress.

I’m down 60lbs sense having Lizzeth, that cutie in the picture with me, but there is no way you get to see a pic of me from then. šŸ™‚

Running Recap (Sep 8th-14th) and past transformation picture

This week was ok. Could have done more but IĀ enjoyed my laziness.

I’m working on making 4 miles my average in stead of 3. My last two 4 mile runs were great. I love when I ran and feel fast and strong. Saturday was my “long” run at 5 miles. I’ll be doing 4 to 5 miles the rest of the month and if my shins and knee do good with that I’ll start adding a mile on to my long runs every Saturday. I’m really hoping I’ve given myself enough time to heal so I can really start putting on the miles. I’ve mapped out another schedule and if all goes well I’ll be running my half November 23rd. I’m going to slow my training down to only running three times a week and see how things go with that. Fingers crossed!

Yesterday was my first 5 mile run in a month. It was a great run. I felt like I was a little slow but I was ok with that. I was hoping I would run it in under and hour and my time was 59 mins 59.43 sec! Even with feeling slower then normal it was a nice relaxing run. Running in cooler weather helps a lot I think. My knee is a little sore this morning but I’m praying it will be fine by the end of the day. I really want to move past the four mile mark.

As for my strength training…I haven’t been doing as much the last couple weeks but I’m doing more reps and adding weight on toĀ the dumb bells. I’m up to 300 to 500 crunches a dayĀ and I’ve doubled and added weight onto all the arm exercises I’m doing. I also started some leg exercises. I’m looking forward to seeing the transformation that takes place the next few months.

With 60lbs down I’m thinking of taking a few progress pics again. Four years ago this was my transformation. I had

200lbs to 147!

200lbs to 147!

already lost 30lbs before the first picture was taken. I’ve yo-yoed with my weight with having two more kids sense then but I am determined to get back in shape and STAY there! I never thought I’d post these pictures again. Ekk! It’s hard to believe that only four years ago I was that tiny, or that I had gotten SO big. Ick! On the plus side I’m in better shape so I’m carrying my weightĀ a little nicer now.Ā My 190 frame doesn’t look anything like that 200lb pic. Thank God! hahaĀ Here’s to one day getting back down to the 140s.

Monday: 4 mile walk/run

Tuesday: Strength

Wednesday: 4 mile run and strength

Saturday: 5 mile run

Total miles: 13 miles

Running Recap (Sep 1st-7th)

I ran three times this week and it was so nice. After taking almost all of last month off it felt great to get some miles in this week. Granted it wasn’t that many miles but it was more then I’ve done in a while.

I’ve had a harder time staying on the strength training this week. Mostly feeling lazy and just not wanting to exercise. I’m guessing the hot weather is playing a part. Hopefully next week will be better.

As for my weight loss I’m down 14.? from last month. I don’t know how I lost so much last month with hardly running but I’ll take it. And YES, it was healthy weight loss. I still binged a couple times but I kept it down, whichĀ has been the hardest part for me. The binges are fewer and I’m doing good with portions at meal times. Hoping this is a sign of things getting better.

I’m down 60lbsĀ sense Lizzeth was born 8 months ago.Ā Only 40lbs to go until I’m in the healthy weight zone again.

Sunday – Strength

Monday – 1 mile run and ab work

Thursday – 3 mile walk/run and ab work

Friday – Strength

Saturday – 4 mile walk/run and strength

Total Miles: 8 miles

You Finally Have You’re Baby, But Noone Told You THIS Was Going To Happen

I just found this post and it clearly was never published, so I’m posting it now.

After every child there are a few things that happen to your body. Things that I always forget until I’m going though it once again. Some of them make me laugh while others leave me shaking my head asking myself “why” does my body have to do this!? These are thingsĀ that NOONEĀ tells you about. You hear plenty of “oh you’re never going to sleep again,” or how labor is so scary and painful.Ā Here are a few things thatĀ you may not think of happening after you have a baby…but they do. Warning: TMI ahead…

1. Headaches. Massive headaches!

2. Itching. My last few post births have left me so itchy. Calm down, not down there! lol My lower abdomen. I don’t know if it’s the extra skin or hormones, or both, but my skin gets so unbearablyĀ itchingĀ I feel like I could scratch my skin off. I looked into this and found it’s a common thing. ItchingĀ in theĀ lower abdomanĀ or anklesĀ seem to be the places of most discomfort. From what I have found NOTHING fixes this but time. OMGosh! Time? This blows!Ā Three to six weeks seems to be the time frameĀ that mostĀ women have thisĀ littleĀ problem.

3.Ā You will rune at least one nice pair of comfy pants/jeans. As soon as you think it’s safe to get into some nicer clothes, you will bleed out like a stuck pig one last time…just for fun…

4. Give into the diapers. Not the cute little ones you’re sweet baby wares, the ones YOU get to ware. lol They may not be all that comfortable but they may save you those comfy pants. Promise!

5. You’re boobs will become rocks for several days, maybe even up to a couple of weeks.

6. Nursing hurts aĀ whole freaking lot! The first two to 8 weeks are not like they show on TV where baby and mother are all sweetly bundled up with happy faces of bliss. Oh no! Cracked nipples, sharp stabbing pains through your whole body every time baby latches on, tears and cringing until your nipple has finally softened in your baby’s mouth…yeah, that’s the real picture. Don’t get me wrong, there is joy in nursing, I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way, and those momentsĀ of happiness are there,Ā but those first few weeks are rough. If you chose to nurse, know that it doesn’t hurt forever.Ā  “Bliss” does come, it just takes time. So hang in there, fight through the pain, and love you’re little one through the discomfort.

7. You will become cross-eyed, drooling, stupid tired. Unless you are blessed with a baby that sleeps through the night from day one, you will come to a point where you truly think you are going crazy from exhaustion.

It’s been 8 months sense I started this post and found it wasn’t finished. I’m not sure if I had more things on my list but this is what I had written down.

What crazy things happened to your body that you were not prepared for?
